Inaugural Meeting of The BOT Of BlueGreenISDN

The BlueGreen Initiative for Sustainable Development Network (BlueGreenISDN) held its inaugural Board of Trustees (BOT) meeting on January 17, 2025, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s journey toward environmental sustainability and community resilience.

Meeting Proceedings

The meeting commenced at 5:48 PM with an opening address and introduction by the Secretary of the Board and Executive Director, Mr. Ediongsenyene Ndunobong. He led a brief prayer, seeking wisdom and guidance for fruitful deliberations.

Chairman’s Opening Remarks

The Chairman of the BOT, Surv. Akanimo Udom, expressed his gratitude to the members for their presence and commitment. He acknowledged the trust placed in him to lead the Board and emphasized the need for collective effort to advance the mission and vision of BlueGreenISDN. He further stressed the importance of strategic collaborations with like-minded organizations to enhance the organization’s growth and impact.

Portfolio Allocation

The allocation of specific BOT positions was put on hold, with the Secretary announcing openings for the roles of Treasurer and Financial Secretary. These positions will be filled in due course.

Management Team Review

Following the approval of the Chairman, the Executive Director proposed a restructuring of the management team to enhance effectiveness and efficiency. As part of this reorganization, the following individuals were relieved of their positions:

  • Mr. Ekemini Jacob – Former Program Manager
  • Mrs. Abasiekeme Ndunobong – Former Gender Lead
  • Ms. Etieno Ntuk – Former Operations Officer

New appointments were made to strengthen the management structure:

  • Ms. Glory Bassey – Admin/Finance Officer
  • Mr. Ini-obong Ekpo – IT Personnel
  • Mr. Ekemini Essien – Newly appointed Programs Manager

Further additions to the team are under consideration, pending screening and approval.

Operational Review and Strategic Direction

The Executive Director provided an overview of BlueGreenISDN’s programs and projects over the past two years. He urged the BOT to play an active role in overseeing the organization’s functions to ensure impactful results.

Charting the Roadmap for the Future

Leading discussions on the organization’s strategic direction, the Chairman emphasized the role of BlueGreenISDN as part of a global movement to safeguard the environment. He highlighted the need to secure funding from national and international sources to support key projects. He also underscored the importance of research and feasibility studies to identify fundable projects that align with global best practices.

Collaborations and Partnerships

The Executive Director briefed the Board on upcoming collaborations, particularly with the International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI), to implement a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) project in Akwa Ibom State. He assured the BOT that updates on this and other partnerships would be communicated in due time.

Closing Formalities

In his closing remarks, Mr. Ekemini Essien commended the Board for a productive and insightful meeting. He encouraged all members to remain engaged and committed to the organization’s goals. The meeting was officially closed at 7:04 PM, with the next meeting date to be announced later.
