Bluegreen ISDN Honors Two Teachers with Eco-Friendly Teacher of the Year Awards

As part of the activities marking World Zero Waste Day, Bluegreen Initiative for Sustainable Development Network honored two teachers from Community Secondary School, Nkek, on Friday, March 27, 2026. The teachers were recognized as the Eco-Friendly Teachers of the Year.

The teachers, Mr. Uduak Udoidiong and Elder Monday Sunday, were celebrated for their invaluable contributions to the successful implementation of the Bottle Toilet Project at the school.

The Bottle Toilet Project is an ecological masterpiece and the first of its kind in Akwa Ibom State. It repurposed over 18,000 PET bottles into a modern WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) facility. The project aims to promote girl-child school enrollment, foster environmental sustainability, and combat climate change
