Sensitization Campaign On Gender-Based Violence And Climate Education At Ukpaubong Community Secondary School, Itam, Itu LGA, Akwa Ibom State

To mark the 2023 edition of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, which also marks the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence, BlueGreen Initiative for Sustainable Development (BlueGreenISD) organized a one-day sensitization campaign on gender-based violence (GBV) and climate education for students at Ukpaubong Community Secondary School, Itam in Itu Local Government Area of the state.

The objectives of the sensitization campaign were to:

Raise awareness among students about GBV and its consequences

Educate students about the link between climate change and GBV

Empower students to take action to prevent GBV.

Key highlights at the event was the commemorative tree planting exercise and the establishment of the Green School Club, a flagship project of BlueGreenISD for the promotion of climate education and literacy.
